Jokowi Joins 20th ASEAN Plus Three Summit

Jakarta: Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo joined the 20th ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit at Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila, the Philippines on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

During the forum, Jokowi addressed a number of security issues in the region. Jokowi called for permanent peace in the Korean Peninsula. 

"We have been very clear regarding the latest situation in the Korean Peninsula," Jokowi said.

Besides that, Jokowi promoted stronger economic ties in the region. Jokowi encouraged smoother Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) negotiations between China, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN countries.

"We hopefully can make East Asia and Southeast Asia more peaceful and prosper," Jokowi added.
